"Mandarine Land"
Our goal is to support the growth and social inclusion of children and young people.
We bring together kids from various backgrounds to help them connect, communicate better, and learn to respect and care for each other.
Since 2013, our project has thrived thanks to the dedication of our volunteers and partners. Each year, we are joined by 50 to 70 enthusiastic helpers from Latvia and across Europe. These volunteers are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children and shaping a better future.
Our activities involve children from Latvian families and those from vulnerable groups, such as orphanages, crisis centers, disadvantaged families, and kids with special needs. By participating in our project, children make new friends, discover new interests, and learn valuable life skills.

The "Mandarinu Zeme" project invites you to be part of an exciting journey that has been transforming children's lives since 2013.
Our mission is to create bright and joyful moments for children from orphanages, boarding schools, and low-income families, as well as for children with special needs. We strive to give them confidence, help them find new friends, broaden their horizons, and learn to appreciate important qualities such as friendship, trust, and kindness.
Every winter and summer, we organize interactive events that not only bring joy to children but also teach them valuable life skills. Our Christmas celebrations have already brought together over 3600 children, 2400 of whom come from at-risk groups. In the summer, we run training camps with a knight theme, where children not only relax but also engage in sports, participate in creative projects, and learn teamwork.
The project is implemented by the cultural association "Alternative Reality," which brings together creative individuals who seek to develop themselves and help others. We are proud of our team of volunteers, which includes people of different ages, nationalities, and religions. Together, we demonstrate that noble goals can be achieved by uniting for a common cause.

Since 2019 the development of the voluntary project "Mandarine Land" has been supported by the European Solidarity Corps. Thanks to this support, we are able to attract young volunteers from different European countries to the project and organize the planned activities for children more effectively, at the same time giving possibilities to young volunteers to grow up and learn new skills, became active citizens.
